The recently reopened, seismically retrofitted Rotunda at LANHM was originally completed in 1913. As the centerpiece of the museum’s architecture, the Rotunda currently connects visitors to two of the most popular exhibits in the museum: the Fin Whale Passage, and the newly established Age of Mammals exhibit. A statue called the “Three Muses” (representing the three disciplines of Art, History and Science) sits at the center of the Rotunda.
